Updated EV6 ready for Norway

KIA EV6

New Kia EV6:

Over 6,000 Norwegians have chosen today’s EV6. Now the car comes in a new version.

These days, Kia is introducing a new and improved version of the EV6.

The new EV6 has a dynamic exterior design, increased range and a wider selection of options that make everyday life more pleasant. The car now has a brand new fourth-generation battery of 84kW which gives an extended range of up to 582 kilometres.

The car has also received a heavily updated infotainment system, parts of which are recognizable from the flagship EV9, as well as a number of OTA updates.

– Today’s cars are digital. Being able to update your car digitally ensures that you have a new car for longer than you did in the old days, says Christian Lagaard in Kia Bil Norge.

Many on the road

Since its launch in August 2021, the EV6 has gained popularity for its modern design and advanced technology, achieving sales of more than 210,000 units worldwide. In Norway alone, there are over 6,000 EV6s on the road.

The EV6 now looks more like the all-new Kia family. The front of the car has been given elegant daytime running lights that feature Kia’s innovative Star Map signature lighting, which gives the car a futuristic and sporty look.

There will be two different steering wheels on the different models. In the GT-Line you will find a sportier steering wheel than before.

Extended range

Kia has equipped the new EV6 with a new, fourth-generation battery. Thanks to the higher energy density, capacity has increased across all versions: from 58kWh to 62kWh for the Standard Range version, and from 77.4kWh to 84kWh for the Long Range version. This means a longer range of up to 582 km (WLTP).

With the 800V technology and a peak charging performance of 260kW, the new 84kWt battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes and customers can get up to 343 km in just 15 minutes.

– All in all, the updated EV6 appears like a top-of-the-line car inside, but with an increased sense of premium. We know that the current model performs well both during driving and charging in summer and winter. We have every reason to expect this to be even better, says Christian Lagaard, communications manager for Kia Bil Norge.

Prices and specifications will come later in September.

  • Kia’s range winner

After Kia revealed the EV3, the replacement for both the Soul and Niro, at last year’s EV Day, this is what it finally looks like. What the EV3 will cost is not clear, but with the largest battery, 600 km is suggested to be within reach. The customers will receive the first cars before Christmas.

  • Kia launches the Norwegian model of the EV6

    – Many people want an electric car with a long range and four-wheel drive for less than half a million. We can now offer that, says communications manager at Kia Bil Norge, Christian Lagaard.

  • On the way to Australia – what about Norway?

A medium-sized electric SUV, the Kia EV5, has now been presented in Australia. It would have fitted well into the Norwegian market, but there is little indication that this will happen any time soon.

  • New Kia with a twist

Kia is also making a debut in New York. And even if the car is not relevant to us, we will certainly notice it here at home as well. The shape is so marked that we can probably talk about a new design language.

  • New options with lower prices

So far, Kia’s large electric SUV has only been offered in top-equipped GT Line variants, but now there are two new options for those who manage with less equipment or settle for rear-wheel drive.

  • Shows wheels with built-in chain

Hyundai and Kia have designed a wheel with a built-in chain that can be retrieved by pressing a button. See video of how the system works.

  • Huge and fully loaded Kia

The EV9 is huge. Over five meters long, almost two meters wide and a car weight of 2.6 tonnes before it is loaded with up to six passengers. Here, Kia is reaching for premium.

  • Tough Kia EV3 ready in 2024

The Kia EV3 will be both tough and probably ready for Norway next year.

  • The prices are clear, charging is easy

Kia has now announced the prices of its large electric SUV, the EV9. It will be the first Kia with Plug&Charge.

  • Kia shows a new challenger in China

There is a motor show in Chengdu in China, and there Kia has shown its compact crossover, the EV5 in production guise. Initially, it will be sold in China, but it is also in the plans for it to go global.
