They certainly know how to make beautiful things in France, like DS with this modern SM called the Tribute.
The French are doing well! First it was Renault who surprised friend and foe with the 17. This time it is DS Automobiles who arouse interest with this SM Tribute, a nod to the legendary Citroën SM.
This concept goes back four years. In 2020, the French brand DS Automobiles organized a competition, in which designers of the brand competed against each other. The goal: come up with a new interpretation of the SM from the seventies. This was the result and finally this concept can be admired in real life.
Concours d’Élégance Chantilly Arts & Elegance
DS takes the SM Tribute to the Concours d’Élégance Chantilly Arts & Elegance in France. The gardens of Château de Chantilly are the setting for this cool event.
For DS this is the tenth time that they participate in the event. The disadvantage of these kinds of concepts is that they often remain concepts. Not everyone has balls like Hyundai, who simply put the N Vision 74 into production.
DS SM Tribute dimensions
The DS SM Tribute is 4.94 meters long, 1.34 meters high and 1.98 meters wide. What you certainly didn’t have in the seventies is 22 inch whoppers of rims that are on this SM Tribute.
The interior has also been reinterpreted with a nod to the original SM. As we know the DS, consisting of beautiful materials such as ivory leather and alcantara.
The DS SM Tribute is not alone at the event. There is also a classic example present so that visitors can compare the real model and this concept. Unfortunately, a production is not in the cards for the concept. Secretly a shame of course, because this on the public road is a real head turner.

Still prefer the original over this aggressive angry monster

Agreed!
Also, after the C-pillar the shape is a bit lost. It’s like the designers started from the front and suddenly got a memo near the rear window that the thing had to fit in someone’s garage and could only be “so long” otherwise it wouldn’t fit.
