BMW 2 Series Active Tourer: Used car market

The first generation of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, built until 2021, is currently being sold at fair prices. This is also an option for hybrid fans!

With the first 2er Active Tourer has BMW his fans were pretty shocked. Not only did the Munich-based company add a compact van to its range, it was also designed with a transverse engine and thus a primarily driven front axle. Until then, this was taboo for the BMW community. Front-wheel drive vehicles are now part of everyday BMW life, and the first 2 Series Active Tourer is a very popular model for bargain hunters on the used car market.

There are currently over 2,000 examples of the Bavarian van on offer on the Car Whiz used car market. From diesels with a mileage of over 200,000 kilometers to barely used petrol models with M Sport equipment. If you narrow down the search a little and only display models with a maximum of 20,000 kilometers on the clock, there are still 440 2 Series Active Tourers to choose from. This includes almost 50 vehicles with plug-in hybrids.

All-wheel drive thanks to electric power

The model with combustion and electric motors was particularly popular (probably also due to the state subsidies at the time). But it was not just the environmental bonus that spoke in favor of the 225xe. The additional engine under the staid metal body of the BMW ensured that the Van had all-wheel drive. And many BMW fans were more comfortable with that than with a pure front-wheel drive.

Instead of large displays, the new owner of the 2 Series Active Tourer can expect a classic view with two round instruments.

Anyone looking for a first-generation plug-in hybrid should definitely take a look at this BMW 225xe Active Tourer, which is currently available from the provider DB Autohaus Bad Salzuflen (NRW) is waiting for a new owner. The all-wheel drive BMW with a system output of 224 hp was first registered in January 2021 and is a first-hand vehicle. And although the white van is almost four years old, the on-board computer only shows a mileage of 13,683 kilometers.

In terms of interior, the Active Tourer of the F45 series cannot keep up with its successor, which has been sold since 2021. Nevertheless, the BMW offered here drives with a Navigation systemheated seats, two-zone automatic climate control and LED headlights. And of course there is also a great amount of space. And that is sure to convince many small families.

To get into the Active Tourer family, you have to have at least 35,800 euros ready for a new car these days, and a plug-in hybrid costs from 48,100 euros. In comparison, the barely used part-time electric car from 2021 is a real bargain. The dealer is currently asking just 21,840 euros for the 225xe – including a 12-month warranty.
