Mansory also makes the new G as a 6×6 – with a touch of Rolls-Royce

Mansory ensures that the “too few wheels problem” that some people have with the Mercedes G-Class is solved.

Mercedes remains true to the ‘crazy’ image of the G-Class. While electrification and downsizing started to play a role in almost every other model from Das Haus, the current G Wagon will remain with us for a while, including V8 AMG models and even the crazy 4×4². Unfortunately, a new Mercedes G-Class 6×6 AMG is one bridge too far.

6×6 exists after all!

The AMG G63 6×6 (W463) was sold as a Mercedes, but built by Brabus. If Mercedes no longer sees any value in it, Brabus will have to get to work itself. Mercedes has kept the updated G-Class pretty true to its original proportions, so you’re basically done once you add the new engines, new dashboard and subtle new styling bits to the old 6×6.

Mansory

In any case, it seems to have been enough reason for Mansory to take another look at the construction drawings of the 6×6. Their old 6×6 turned out to be the perfect icing on the cake for many six-wheeler buyers and quite a number of copies of the limited 6×6 were Mansoryfied. Good old times! Which you can now revive.

Mansory Gronos 6×6

Because the G63 AMG 6×6 is also back at Mansory. The creation is called ‘Gronos 6×6’ and it is certainly not simply a six-wheeled G. No, that is for plebeians. Instead you get the usual set of Mansory articles in bad taste upgrades, so that the 6×6 is really an eye-catcher. Top of the list most grotesque striking modifications is that the carbon fiber has a somewhat strange pattern, something with chains. Carbon fiber is so 2004, forged carbon or CFRP is so 2014, in 2024 it will be time for custom patterns in carbon fiber.

Blue

By the way, the list of most, er, eccentric modifications is a long one. In the interior, the theme is a kind of blue, or perhaps turquoise. Because everything is that color, except the panels with the crazy carbon fiber pattern and the mood lighting. Including starry sky. Although that’s not the touch of Rolls-Royce we meant in the title. After all, any celestial stitcher can do this for you.

Coach By

The Mansory Gronos 6×6 also has something we have known for years from Rolls-Royce (and many others, but Rolls-Royce seems to have made it its own): rear suicide doors. Or coach doors, that’s what luxury brands often want you to call them. Mansory often does crazy things with doors on the G-Class, so why not on your already completely insane six-wheeled G-Class.

Off-road

Just like the Brabus G-Class 6×6, the Mansory Gronos also makes a stab at being a serious off-roader. You get a range of lights, a winch at the front and optionally even real off-road tires. Which feels a bit like Elton John is wearing a set of walking shoes under his glitter suit: you don’t really look like you’re going to climb Mont Blanc.

Naturally, the engine cannot be left behind, so Mansory increases the V8 to 900 hp and 1,200 Nm. This means that the Mansory Gronos 6×6 sprints to 100 faster than Ceaucescu’s Romanian palace, which is an important competitor of the car in terms of dimensions. 10 units are being built.

Useful? No! Nice? No! Kitschy? Yes! But that’s normal for Mansory

Can this item go again? My eyes hurt….

Everyone has their own taste! I would still like to have it, but somewhere abroad where you are not required to have a C driving license for this. If the back can be closed with windows and is approved for more than 9 people (bus), then I can drive it with a D driver’s license. I think that when I ask that question, they will be happy to do so if I pay enough money

      “To each his own!”

It’s a bit like Gerard Joling’s glitter shirts, you just have to love them indeed 😉

    A gypsy palace on wheels.

Funny. Then you have one of those Maersk containers on wheels, they still stick air ducts and intakes on it as if you know what kind of great performance improvement you expect. That’s nice for cars with 1/3 fewer wheels, 2/3 lower and 1/3 narrower, Mansory! And for toddlers.

Shouldn’t even be driving around in Dubai! On the other hand, I would like to tease environmental wappies in Utrecht with it!
