Lightning McQueen in large: 2024 Ford Mustang GT becomes a film star
A Ford Mustang with a children’s film look? It sounds strange at first, but that’s exactly what happened: Andy De La Vega was inspired by the Pixar series “Cars” and redesigned his entire car!
The 2024 one Ford Mustang GT has just come onto the market – and one of the first owners drastically redesigned his new sports coupé. Pixar fans will immediately recognize where Andy De La is Vega Brought inspiration!
In the Pixar film series “Cars“, as you could almost imagine, it’s about cars. The main role is played by Lightning McQueen. De La Vega used exactly this red speedster as a model for his new Mustang.

Real Mustang looks like Lightning McQueen from “Cars”
The Cars fan was particularly detailed. In the film series there is the fictional tire brand “Lightyear”, which is most likely based on Goodyear – and of course the Mustang’s Continental tires say “Lightyear” in white letters, true to the film. Of course, the correct race number 95 and all important stickers were also taken into account.
The Lightning McQueen eyes on the windshield complement the film look.

Like in the film, the Mustang has eyes on the windshield. This is a transparent film so that the car can still be driven. Andy De La Vega’s Mustang GT is slightly lowered, but the engine has not been touched. The standard 480 hp of the naturally aspirated V8 should most likely be sufficient.
There’s only one wish left: Lightning McQueen is in the film with a light blue one Porsche 911 Carrera GTS named Sally. Brought as part of a fundraiser Porsche A “911 Sally Special” version was launched on the market as a one-off – it would be nice if the two replicas could meet each other!
This redesigned Ford Mustang is sure to be the star of every child’s birthday party – but is also a real eye-catcher for older people. The attention to detail can only be praised!
