Kia EV9 GT will be introduced in Korea in 2025. Kia announced at the CEO Investor Day held on the 5th that it will launch the EV9 GT in January next year. EV9 GT is a high-performance electric vehicle based on Kia’s large electric SUV EV9, and is expected to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 4 seconds with a high-output dual motor.
EV9 is the second model based on the E-GMP, a dedicated electric vehicle platform, and is the new flagship in Kia’s lineup and the most innovative Korea’s first three-row large electric SUV that is pioneering new areas that have never been seen before. The EV9 is operated in 2WD and GT-Line variants, and the high-performance GT will be introduced in January next year.
The EV9 GT trim direction is a high-performance differentiation that enhances the leisurely ‘Fun to Drive’ driving feeling on real roads, such as leisurely output, overwhelming acceleration, and agile response. EV9 GT is based on high-output dual motor four-wheel drive. The EV9 GT’s goal is 4 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h.
The combined total output of the EV9 GT has not been disclosed, but some foreign media predicted that it would produce higher output than the Kia EV6 GT. The EV6 GT produces a combined total output of 585 horsepower and a maximum torque of 75.5kgm. EV9 GT is equipped with an electronically controlled suspension and electronic braking system optimized for performance.
Meanwhile, Kia plans to release a variety of new cars, including a partial change to the EV6 in the second quarter, a partial change to the EV3/K8 in the third quarter, and a partial change to the EV6 GT/sportage in the fourth quarter. In particular, EV3 is an E-GMP-based compact SUV that aims to popularize and universalize electric vehicles. A new service is added to the subscription service FoD.
