BMW M5 Touring: There are only 891 examples of this model!
They are fast, spacious and look good: high-horsepower station wagons. It is not without reason that these models have their own, large fan base. And that does not only apply to the new Audi RS 6 or BMW M3 Touring, even older models are in demand.
A very special example is the BMW M5 Touring (E34), because it is very rare and hard to find on the used car market. But what is even more exciting is that with this station wagon, BMW M laid the foundation for many powerful station wagons.
A look at the number of M5 models from the E34 series shows how rare the M5 Touring really is: The sedan was built 8079 times – that’s a manageable number. But just 891 examples of the M5 Touring left the factory!
This engine is the holy grail for many
In addition to the rarity factor, the M5 Touring embodies everything that most BMW fans love about the Bavarian brand. Starting with the legendary inline six-cylinder engine! The S38 in the M5 Touring delivers 340 hp and up to 400 Nm of torque. The station wagon comes in 6,1 Seconds from standstill to 100 km/h. Not bad for a car from the 90s that weighs just over 1700 kilograms. The top speed is 250 km/h.

In contrast to its powerful engine, which in this case has almost 240,000 kilometers on the clock, the M5 Touring looks as simple and understated as usual from the outside – but not boring. This M5 currently advertised is painted in diamond black metallic, which underlines the “wolf in sheep’s clothing” look. However, this is already the second paint job, but it was repainted in the original color.
When the car is sold, the MOT will be updated, so everything should be in order technically. And apart from four customizations, everything on this M5 is original. Only the exhaust system, the lowering (springs), the sound system and the tinted windows are retrofitted. Nothing that cannot be reversed if the new owner values the car in its absolute original condition.
A compromise that prospective buyers would certainly accept if you take a look at the used car market. The range of E34 M5 Touring models is slim – and with a price of 59,000 euros, this model is still one of the cheaper ones.
