Chiron Super Sport with Dutch license plate is surprisingly cheap

In this article about the RDW registrations of June we look at the ‘other’ brands, including Bugatti.

The new registrations of the various ‘big’ brands have already been discussed, so it is time to look at the rest. And there were a number of striking things.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde

In the RDW register, three Alfa Romeos of the type Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde appeared in June. The addition ‘Verde’ stands out in the RDW register, because normally this version is only called Quadrifoglio. This appears to be the renewed Giulia Quadrifoglio. You can also see that from the power: these cars have 519 hp instead of 510 hp. The price is also slightly higher than before. These new Giulias cost an average of €155,757, while the older Quadrifoglios cost an average of €122,337.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

Bugatti Chiron number 8 was registered in June, this time a Chiron Super Sport 300+, in the hands of the most famous Bugatti owner in the Netherlands! Mr. Perridon initially drove this car around in Dubai, but now the car is registered in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, this means it is no longer an original Dutch car.

Although this is the absolute top version of the Chiron, the catalogue price is reasonable: it is ‘only’ €3,058,397. The normal Chirons with Dutch registration are almost all more expensive. The most expensive even costs €4,064,477.

BYD Denza D9

The Denza car brand was founded in 2010 through a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and BYD, with both parties holding half of the shares. In 2013, the first model was presented, the Denza EV, which was later renamed Denza 500. In 2018, a second model, the Denza X, was launched, but the market remained limited to China.

When things went a lot worse for Denza in 2021, Mercedes-Benz reduced its share to just 10%, with the remaining 90% in the hands of BYD. A restructuring followed and in 2022 the first new model was presented, the D9. A very impressive seven-seater ‘bus’ of 5.2 meters long and almost 2 meters wide and high.

Earlier this year, the news came that the Denza D9 would come to Europe. Not much clarity about this was provided, but now there is in the form of two copies that have been registered by the RDW. In both cases, it concerns the hybrid variant that is equipped with a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine that delivers approximately 130 hp, supplemented by two electric motors that get 288 hp from a 40 kWh battery. And that for a price of €117,813.

Donkervoort F22

One Donkervoort was registered in June, a blue F22 (https://www.autoblog.nl/nieuws/dit-is-de-nieuwe-donkervoort-f22-3427307), fresh from the factory. A car that we as the Netherlands can be proud of, with a 2.5 liter five-cylinder, 470 hp and an empty weight of 815 kilos, which means you can reach a hundred in 2.5 seconds. By the way, the car is not cheap: €402,240!

Hyundai Santa Fe

Recently, this was called the coolest SUV of the moment, the new Hyundai Santa Fe. In June, the first copies were registered and there were 51 of them right away. The prices of these cars were between €65,795 and €68,945.

Nissan GT-R

It remains a car with a certain appeal: the Nissan GT-R (R35). And therefore worth mentioning. Three were registered in June, one from 2009 with 486 HP and two from 2011 with 531 HP.

Renault Rafale

Another new model on the Dutch roads: the Renault Rafale. In June, 42 have already been registered, with an average price of €57,320.

Renault Sport Spider

Who still remembers it, the Renault Sport Spider? A very nice alternative for the Lotus Elise, for example. Although the latter did a lot better, because only 1,685 Renaults were made. One was registered in June, which brings the counter to 27. A real enthusiast’s car!

Seres 5 Max

Last year, the first copies of the Seres 5 appeared on Dutch license plates. On June 1, 6 were registered, all the fully electric version, also known as the Seres 5 SF.

In the past month, however, the first hybrid version was also registered, called Seres 5 Max by the RDW. This has a 120 hp 1.5 liter four-cylinder that does its job as a range extender. Fully electric, the car has a range of approximately 150 kilometers due to the 40 kWh battery, but thanks to the range extender this even exceeds 1,000 kilometers.

Jesus Christ, four grand for a Donkervoort!? Totally bizarre. That color of the Santa Fe seems to work well. Although it would be even better if “Sante Fe” and the somewhat poor Hyundai logo were in black.
