A street in Freilassing, Upper Bavaria, is closed off due to an accident. According to the police, a driver does not agree with this – and deliberately drives towards a first responder.

(dpa/Car Whiz/KI) In Freilassing, Upper Bavaria, a serious incident occurred in which a 34-year-old driver of a small van deliberately hit a first responder. The incident occurred when the first responder, a 54-year-old man, was blocking the road after another accident. A seven-year-old child had previously been hit by a car as he entered the road on a scooter. The boy suffered minor injuries.

First aider clings to open driver’s window

The 34-year-old did not agree with the road closure and drove directly towards the first responder, who was trying to divert traffic. After the van hit the first responder, he held on to the open driver’s window to avoid being hit by the wheels. The driver continued driving for about 50 metres before an Austrian police officer who happened to be there was able to stop the vehicle.

The police arrested the 34-year-old driver and began an investigation for dangerous interference with road traffic. The man was Driver’s license Fortunately, the first responder only suffered minor injuries and sought medical attention on his own. The seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment of his minor injuries.
