Let’s face it. We Dutch are not exactly a high-class people when it comes to exterior and interior design. Exceptions aside. Look at the range of million-dollar villas on the web and you will discover that there are many similarities in terms of theme. Grab the VT-wonen magazine, try it on in your home and bam, another one delivered. And don’t forget the Porsche or a big BMW in the driveway.
Datsun plus house = winning
Sometimes there are houses where things are arranged differently! The nostalgic house from last week was the other extreme, but this is one to lick your fingers at. It starts with the Datsun in the driveway. Of course you can drive a modern Bentley or Porsche if you live in a million dollar mansion. But that doesn’t come close to the charm of the classic Japanese. What a gem.
The good taste is not limited to cars. The house itself is at least as attractive. A spacious driveway, a neatly maintained garden with a neat lawn. And an interior where everything is nicely functional without frills. This house could have been in the middle of America, somewhere in England or in the French countryside. That look. None of that.
