This Mercedes Benz 500 SL, manufactured in 1992, is being offered on the eBay online marketplace by a private seller from the Miltenberg district (Bavaria, around 70 km west of Würzburg). It has a mileage of 192,000 on the clock.
According to the offer description, this used Mercedes-Benz SL 500 “in a well-maintained condition”. In addition, the seller lists numerous jobs that have been carried out on his vehicle in his advert. The following were carried out “recently”: engine oil change with filter, new water cooler with refill, transmission oil flush with filter change, air conditioning service with refill of the coolant.
The brake fluid, fuel and air filters have also just been changed. The servo pump including the power steering pump has been replaced, as has the valve cover gasket. And that is just a small excerpt from the detailed list in the sales offer.

The Mercedes Benz 500 SL cost a whopping 100,000 DM when new 35 years ago. It was equipped accordingly. At the premiere, the electrically adjustable integral seats, the automatic roll bar (folds out in 0.3 seconds) and the Adaptive Damping System ADS (adapts the chassis to the current driving conditions) were world firsts.
However, the Mercedes-Benz SL 500 is not a car for tight budgets. Maintenance is expensive. This also applies to fuel costs. Average consumption is around 16 l/100 km – with moderate driving.
