The Chevrolet Equinox EV trims are being completely revamped. According to GMauthority, an overseas automobile media outlet, the Equinox EV will have simplified trims such as LT and RS through the 2025 model year change, and various specifications will be removed as options. The basic trim will be produced starting from the 2025 model. The Equinox EV has also been confirmed for domestic release.
The Equinox EV is a popular SUV developed with the goal of being a reasonable electric vehicle. The Equinox EV began delivering to US customers early this year, with detailed pricing announced. The Equinox EV is also set to be released domestically within the year. However, the domestic price of the Equinox EV is likely to be set higher than initially expected.
When the Equinox EV was unveiled, Chevrolet had announced a base 1LT price of $30,000 (about 41 million won), but raised it to $34,995 (about 48 million won) with the official launch. The 2025 Equinox EV will drop derivative trims such as the 2LT, 3LT, and 2RS and operate as the LT and RS, and a base LT trim will also be produced.
The Equinox EV has been simplified with various package options. The Equinox EV LT comes standard with cloth seats, a 6-way manual driver’s seat, and a urethane steering wheel. The 8-way power driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, and 1st row heated seats, which were standard on the existing 2LT, are now optional.
Also optional are HD surround vision, center light bar headlamps, smartphone wireless charging, ambient lamps, 1st row 6-way manual passenger seat, 2-zone air conditioning, rear camera, rear camera washer, 1st row ventilated seats, 2nd row heated seats, headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and head-up display.
The Equinox EV body size is 4845mm in overall length, 1913mm in overall width, and 1644mm in overall height. Compared to one of its competing models, the Tesla Model Y, the overall length is 95mm longer and the overall height is 28mm higher. The overall width is 15mm narrower. The Equinox EV wheelbase is 2954mm, securing a spacious interior space. The trunk is up to 1614ℓ.
The Equinox EV can travel up to 513 km on a single charge according to the EPA. It has been certified to be higher than Chevrolet’s own measured range. The Equinox EV operates with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (eAWD). The front-wheel drive generates a maximum output of 210 horsepower, and the all-wheel drive generates a combined total output of 290 horsepower and a maximum torque of 47.7 kgm.
