The biggest bus is not Transport or GMC Vandura, but this Transit MS-RT with 286 hp!
Vans come in all shapes and sizes. Large and small, spacious and very spacious or slow and slow. Most vans are made for actual work. Fortunately, the ladies and gentlemen at MS-RT have not forgotten that a good-looking bus always scores. Even if it is only on the internet.
This is the Ford Transit Custom MS-RT. We have known the MS-RT kits for years from various Ford vans of all kinds. The recipe is almost always the same: a heavy body kit that looks as if Ford would have developed it that way itself. Both in terms of design and fit. That is no different in this case, of course.
Transit MS-RT
In fact, in green, the car fits seamlessly between the Fiesta ST and Focus ST. At Ford they were also impressed by MS-RT and now it is a kind of sub-label of Ford. MS-RT is the brainchild of M-Sport, which in this case is not a BMW with a sports package, but the rally team with which Ford has been working for years.
The first achievement is the Transit Custom MS-RT. You can order the version for the Transit diesel, plug-in hybrid or the fully electric E-Transit. The diesel is available with 150 hp (manual gearbox) or 170 hp (automatic). The PHEV has a 2.5 petrol engine and electric motor, together producing 233 hp. The electric variant has no less than 286 hp in sport mode!
Fiercely!
The kit consists of a new, thick front bumper, heavily added side skirts, rear bumper and a spoiler that Rick Brandsteder would describe as ‘heavy’. There is also an extra LED strip across the entire width, above the grille and between the headlights. Indeed, just as fashion dictates.
The wheel arches are also a lot wider and can accommodate the 19-inch rims, which are also half an inch wider than the regular Transit Custom Sport (also a cool bus, by the way!). GoodYear Eagle Sport tires are mounted on the rims. That seems like a simple task, but both the rims and the tires are designed for the weight that the Transit can carry.
Interior
In the interior, the Ford party goes wild with sports seats, (artificial) leather, Alcantara and – very much so – blue stitching. It is also great that Ford gives you the opportunity to order special colors, such as Elle green (Yellow Green) and MS-RT Blue.
