Ford’s secret news: cheaper electric cars and Dakar-style Mustang

Ford CEO Jim Farley reportedly showed several future models to select dealers. Among other things, new variants of the “real” Ford Mustang (the one with the V8, that is).

According to Automotive News, Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley, has been out at Ford dealers and shown several new models. This is according to anonymous sources who had to hand over their phones before the meeting started.

What was shown was a mix of physical mock-ups, images and renderings.

What makes the enthusiasts most curious are the Mustangs that were displayed. One, called the Mach 4, is a four-door coupe. Something that was previously rumored was on the way.

Farley also showed a picture of an off-road version of the Mach 4. A Mustang in Baja/Dakar guise, whatever you prefer to call it.

The car was lifted and had fatter tires. Much more than that was not communicated about the exciting Mustang. But the fun didn’t end there.

Faster convertible, “sneak” Mustang and more electricity

An extra hot Ford Mustang Cabriolet with a manual transmission with features from previous GT350/GT500 models is said to be in the works. However, without the Shelby emblem.

Last and with the least engine was an EcoBoost Mustang modified by RTR which would cost around 40,000 dollars, corresponding to 420,000 kroner before tax and other fees.

During the meeting, future cheaper electric cars were also brought up, these have been known before. That time, however, more details were taken up and, among other things, there were renderings of a sedan, crossover and pickup.

In addition to the electric cars and Mustangs, dealers got to see a physical prototype of a smaller transporter based on the Ford Maverick.

Prices and delivery dates can so far only be fantasized about. At present, we also do not know which of the models are current for the Swedish market.

Something we have known since before is that an electric Ford Focus and Fiesta are in the works.
