Main outline agreement: we no longer have to drive electrically!

The new outline agreement does not bode well for the electric car.

There is an outline coalition agreement! This time the voter wanted something different from the usual parties. After years of combinations of VVD and CDA, they have now opted for VVD, the farmers’ CDA (former CDA members from the province), the new CDA (NSC are many former CDA members) and Geert Wilders for the much-needed lubrication and nuance. with its poffertjes bakers. This can only go well, of course: in September 2010 CDA and VVD were unable to resist the flirtation with PVV and that turned out well.

We are therefore very curious about the new policy for car owners. Because last year it was burdened by ‘draconian policies of the woke elite’, if we can believe the internet trolls. Not that they were in power, but yes: it is so easy to say it, of course.

Outline agreement

We took a quick look through the document and came across several interesting things. There are not many straws for motorists to grasp on to.

Will the electric driver become an endangered species? No, according to the coalition agreement, the new cabinet will continue to encourage electric driving. It is not said how, but they do this by charging the EV driver more. They call this ‘honest contributions’ and in this way the overlords want to keep the returns sustainable in the long term.

Other addition

That sounds a bit like my nephew. He now has his own bedroom and he encourages ‘cleaning the room’. He does this by sitting behind the PlayStation. In this way he facilitates a good cause without having to do anything for it. People who want to clean their room can do so if they pay more for it.

Then we continue on a serious note. The additional tax will also change. That is an extra tax for people who have a company car. This is of course unprecedented and should be taxed severely. The new cabinet will introduce a new tax bracket and adjust the additional tax. It is not entirely clear how.

No subsidies for EVs

All subsidies for electric cars are coming to an end. The new cabinet wants the costs of driving to be shared more fairly between EVangelists and petrolheads. All that remains is the weight correction. A good approach in itself. Electric cars are slightly heavier, but what makes them heavier actually contributes to cleaner air. All other EV subsidies will stop on January 1, 2025.

Zero emission zones

Then there are also the environmental zones. The new cabinet wants the arrival of the so-called zero-emission zones to be postponed. It is not yet entirely clear how they intend to do this. They are thinking of ‘national exceptions for entrepreneurs’ who can still park stationary in front of your window with their old diesel bus or something. It is already clear that this will be difficult, because the introduction of environmental zones in cities is a municipal decision and not a national decision. So if you want more emissions in your own city center, you also have to vote for poffertjesbakers in the municipal elections and then it will be arranged for you!

We mentioned it in the previous article, the fuel excise discount. It’s going to stay for a while. Initially it was intended that this would expire at the end of 2024, but that is not the case. This will now be until 2025.

Well, the people get the leaders they deserve. However, the above does not make me happy.

Nice. Now the BPM on a nice 6- or 8-cylinder road please. And keep going with all those sour left-wing reactions. Delicious!

Apart from removing subsidies, no concrete approach has yet been developed.
No nonsense, everyone is rich! No one has to change and less costs for everyone except left-wing hobbyists.
