Only 007 copies of the unique Aston Martin DB5 are built

It’s been 60 years since the James Bond film Goldfinger was released in UK cinemas. The model manufacturer Agora Models sees this as a golden opportunity and is launching a unique collector’s edition.

To celebrate this, model maker Agora Models has produced an extremely limited edition of its 1:8 scale Aston Martin DB5 model – plated in 24 carat gold.

You who rub your hands together now have to rub even harder as it will not be easy to get hold of. It is only offered in seven copies, which are appropriately numbered from 001 to 007.

Just like the “regular” DB5 that Agora Models also offers, this one also comes in twelve packs. This means that you, as the lucky owner, get to assemble the model yourself in the best Ikea style.

And since it’s James Bond’s work vehicle, it reproduces all the features – albeit in miniature – that the world’s most recognizable secret agent needs: catapult seat roof panel complete with working catapult seat, bulletproof rear window and rotating license plate holder. Inter alia.

The golden Aston Martin DB5 has been developed together with the film company Eon Productions and thus meets museum standards.

– I have always dreamed of being able to offer the ultimate James Bond car as part of our collection, says Agora Model founder James Franks, according to a press release.

– In 1:8 scale, we are allowed to faithfully reproduce the ingenious gadgets installed by Q, which work uncompromisingly in this aesthetically pleasing model. Bringing out a gold-plated DB5 is a fitting tribute to the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger.

Each of the seven models will be hand-built in 2025. Deliveries of the gold-plated components will take place in the summer of the same year.

To place your order, you have to hang on the lock, in any case the manufacturer’s site, on October 5. It is precisely then – on James Bond Day itself – that Agora Models receives orders.

And then the price? A deposit of $9,999 is made the day your order goes through, and the remaining $20,000 is due by January 1, 2025.
