Partial interior of Kia Tasman revealed, equipped with wide display

Part of the Kia Tasman interior was revealed. The Tasman test car published in Carscoop, an overseas automobile media outlet, can be seen in part of the interior equipped with a wide display. Tasman is Kia’s next-generation pickup truck and is based on body-on-frame. Tasman will be sequentially launched in Korea and Australia next year.

Tasman is Kia’s next-generation pickup truck. Kia plans to sequentially launch the Tasman in Korea and Australia starting in 2025. In particular, Tasman is optimized for Australia, where pickup trucks are popular. Competition is expected with the three most popular pickup trucks in Australia, including the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and Izzard D-Max.

Tasman is based on body-on-frame. The partially revealed Tasman interior shows Kia’s latest layout, including a wide display that connects the digital instrument panel and display into one, and a new steering wheel. However, the dashboard, center fascia, and center tunnel are expected to have a clunky design.

The exterior of the Tasman has an angular silhouette, embodying the style of an authentic pickup truck. Kia’s latest design language, such as vertically arranged headlamps, is reflected. A stepped step is placed on the side of the rear bumper. Supports the latest ADAS systems. Tasman’s goal is a maximum wading depth of 800mm and a towing force of 3500kg.

According to some foreign media, the Tasman powertrain is a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine that meets the latest emissions regulations. The 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine is Kia’s flagship diesel engine and is combined with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission to produce a maximum output of 194 horsepower and a maximum torque of 45kgm. Electric vehicles will be introduced in the future.
