Stay away from the A15! I repeat, stay away from the A15!

Stay away from the A15! I repeat, stay away from the A15!

A lot of traffic misery is planned for the A15 in the coming period.

Roadworks, it feels like they are everywhere. Now it just depends on where you are. In the Rotjeknor area, the “Attention, work” notifications from Flitsmeister fly around your ears. That will not get any less, because from tomorrow morning the A15 between Ridderkerk and Deil is due to roadworks. Actually, we knew that too.

A15 road works

In the end it will result in something beautiful. The work is annoying now, but in the long term we can enjoy the improvements. Bite the bullet, your mother would say. Fortunately, we will help you on your way by warning you. Stay away from the A15, literally because parts of the highway are closed off to all traffic by Rijkswaterstaat.

Tomorrow, July 12, the fun begins. The work will begin at 22:00 and part of the A15 will be closed in both directions. This concerns the section from the Gorinchem interchange in the direction of the Deil interchange. The work will last until July 19, 05:00.

Then it’s the other side’s turn. Junction Deil towards junction Gorinchem. From 19 July 22:00 to 26 July 05:00.

On August 9, there will be another one-week closure on the A15/N3 towards the Gorinchem junction from 10:00 PM to Friday, August 16, 5:00 AM.

Rijkswaterstaat speaks of ‘major traffic disruption’. Between mid-July (tomorrow) and mid-October 2024, motorists must take into account an additional travel time of between 30 and 60 minutes at various times. Diversions are being set up. You can take a detour via the A2, A16, A27 or the A59.

The roadworks are planned during the summer holidays to disrupt as little traffic as possible. If you are too poor to go on holiday abroad, are in the Netherlands during this period and have to be on the A15, it is a shame. The project will be completed on 4 November 2024.
