Super thick station wagon makes Audi RS6 redundant

You can enjoy winter sports with this super thick station wagon.

It was a memorable night for Car Whiz editor @Loek. He stayed up especially for you dear readers! This way we were able to give you all the ins and outs of the Audi RS6 Avant GT last night.

The Audi RS6 is a very important car for station wagon enthusiasts. Normally the ‘wagon is a Northern European affair, but the RS6 has made the station wagon cool again. Also for influencers, YouTubers and socialites.

Super cool station wagon

This means that brands that previously did not make station wagons are now also trying. The latest feat belongs to Wuling. The Chinese car manufacturer (which often collaborates with General Motors) has made a super thick station wagon: the Wuling Starlight. That car has been available as a sedan for a few months.

Now there is a station wagon variant. Ideal if you have a lot of children or want to go on tour with your rap group (which you should call the Wu-Ling Clan). The images you see are still renders, but they are very detailed and come from the manufacturer. Nowadays, press photos have been edited to such an extent that they almost look like renders. In any case, the plates give a clear idea of what the car can look like.

Wuling also announces production, so this model will definitely come! The basis is the Wuling Starlight sedan. Like many other Chinese cars, the Wuling doesn’t look bad, but it doesn’t seem very original. The rear seems to be an ode to the Kia EV6, or at least an imitation of it. It’s not ugly, on the contrary! It has become a handsome station wagon.

In terms of technology of this super thick station wagon, it is still a matter of guessing. The Wuling Starlight is available as a sedan with a PHEV drivetrain or fully electric variant. An EV station wagon sounds like music to our ears, of course. And especially when it looks like this!

    Kia meets Audi meets Mitsubishi

A bit of a stolen design, but the whole thing is quite nice.
Only those Rays-like JDM rims don’t really fit in well.

Maybe I need to wake up a bit, but replacing a V8 bi-turbo with an EV is not quite the same in my opinion. Leave this one to me in China, maybe they will like it there.
