The maxed-out Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro is professionally fast

Mercedes-AMG showed off its new worst thing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed: the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic+. “The sportiest model in our AMG GT family.”

Despite its long name, it has a short time from 0-100 km/h and an even shorter 0-200 km/h time. Okay, not “shorter” to 200. But you are on the track.

This car is described by Mercedes-AMG themselves as even sharper than its predecessors, and all the more suitable for the track.

– The new AMG GT 63 Pro is the sportiest model in our AMG GT family, says Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

– If you want to enjoy your AMG GT on the street but still tackle fast laps on the track, the GT 63 Pro is the best choice.

We would have been surprised if they had said otherwise. But what makes this German beast so sporty?

Among other things, there is the twin-turbo V8 of four liters and 612 hp: that is, 27 horses more than in the AMG GT 63.

In addition, the ingenious engineers have managed to squeeze out another 50 Nm of torque (as if 800 wasn’t enough). But we don’t turn down 850 Nm if we don’t have to.

The top speed is said to be 317 km/h, while the 100 km/h sprint takes 3.2 seconds.

– We have increased the engine’s power and improved the aerodynamics with elements such as a new front skirt and additional wind channels on the underside of the car, continues Michael Schiebe.

The engine cooling is assisted by double cooling units in each front wheel housing. Thus, the new AMG GT 63 Pro can perform at the best level out on the racing track.

The improved aerodynamics in the front carriage in turn gives a more precise steering feel.

– At the same time, GT Pro offers drivability in everyday life. This blend of performance and practicality is a fitting addition to our AMG GT family, which can offer something for all sports car enthusiasts, concludes Michael Schiebe.

What it will cost or when the order books are opened is left to the imagination. However, what it draws in mixed consumption is communicated in the press release: 14.1 l/100 km. Perhaps best to stick to a stingy Dacia Sandero, after all.
