Buying a Porsche 911 GT3 is a dream for many.
Buy a sports car with aspirations for the circuit from the zeroes that also holds its own every day? It is not without reason that the Porsche 911 has built its reputation as a sports car for every day.

With ‘hard work’ that 996 Carrera or Carrera S is certainly attainable. A 911 GT3 sounds more like an unattainable dream. But don’t be mistaken. The first generation 911 GT3 based on the 996 is more attainable than you think. With the 997 and later the 991 very different price tags come up.
This is mainly because the 996 GT3 was not well understood, although you can now clearly see a change in trend. The time when the 996 was at the bottom in terms of price is far behind us.
It was only with the introduction of the 991.2 that Porsche developed the concept of ‘Touring’ on a GT3. In other words, more focused on sporty driving on public roads instead of the circuit. This specific 996 can be seen as a possible precursor to that. Imagine the rear wing gone and you’ll get a long way.
The car in question has no roll cage or track history. The sports seats, lack of a rear seat and ‘GT3’ written into the upholstery remind you that you are definitely not dealing with a Carrera.
Here you are looking at a 996 after the facelift. Only 2,313 of the 996.2 GT3 were made. The 3.6 liter boxer engine delivers 381 hp and 385 Nm of torque. Of course coupled to a manual gearbox, with the 996 and 997 GT3s you always had to deal with a third pedal.
This car is an original Dutch Porsche 911 GT3 and is looking for a new owner on The Collectables. The 996 GT3 is the most affordable way to drive a 911 GT3.
