Volkswagen’s new Teramont revealed, somewhat confusing design

Volkswagen’s new Teramont Pro has been pre-released. The new Teramont Pro, revealed through the China Patent Office, is a full-change model, featuring a boxy exterior silhouette and a unique front design. Teramont is also scheduled to be released domestically under the global model name Atlas. The new Teramont Pro will be officially released within the year.

Teramont is a large SUV of Volkswagen with a global model name Atlas, different from the Touareg. Teramont was first revealed in 2017. The current Teramont is the second partial change model of the first generation. Teramont is also scheduled to be released in Korea in the first half of next year as Atlas. The domestic specification is the second partial change model.

The new Teramont Pro will be officially unveiled as a second-generation full-change within the year, and will begin sales in the US in 2025 as the new Atlas. The new Teramont Pro body size is 5156mm in overall length, 1988mm in overall width, 1785mm in overall height, and has a wheelbase of 2979mm. Compared to the existing model, the overall length has increased by 58mm.

The new Teramont Pro has an overall boxy style. The front features large headlamps, a grille reminiscent of an electric car, and a horizontal bar connecting the left and right headlamps. The side features auto flush door handles that take air resistance into account, and new wheels. The rear lamps are connected on both sides.

The rear lamp interior features dot pattern graphics. The new Teramont Pro R-Line trim is differentiated from the general model with exclusive front and rear bumpers and wheels. The new Teramont Pro is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine based on the Chinese standard, generating a maximum output of 268 horsepower. It supports an all-wheel drive option.
