This VW Golf 2 is practically a new car!
Today it is clear to everyone: The VW golf is one of the most popular models in Germany – and that goes beyond the boundaries of compact cars. 50 years ago, the Wolfsburg-based car, which was then much smaller, came onto the market and was immediately very successful. This was of course not least due to the low purchase price. The Golf I was available from 7,995 DM, its successor, the Golf II, from 13,490 DM.
Before the production of the Golf, VW in a crisis. But thanks to the people’s enthusiasm for the angular, small VW, around six million examples of the first generation Golf rolled off the production line, and almost 300,000 more of the second generation.
This Golf has only 2136 kilometers on the clock
In short: The VW Golf, or especially the Golf 2, is not a rare car, nor is it a rare vintage car. But this striking red example from 1990 is very special for several reasons. First of all, there is the low mileage: according to the speedometer, it is only 2136 kilometers!
But there is something else special about this Golf: the 90 hp classic car is right-hand drive. This alone makes it easy to stand out at a golf meeting in Germany.
Not only the impeccable condition catches the eye, but also the steering wheel on the “wrong” side.

And the immaculate condition will certainly help the new owner to attract a lot of attention on the road. The paintwork in tornado red still shines as brightly as it did on the first day, the seats and the steering wheel appear to be completely untouched. (Older) TÜV documents are also said to be present, but the Golf currently no longer appears to have a valid sticker.
But how much should this Golf 2 cost in new condition? At 27,880 euros, the old Golf is of course no bargain, but Convertible Finding a car from that era with a similarly low mileage is almost impossible. And even examples with around 70,000 kilometers cost around 15,000 euros. In comparison, the price seems more than fair.
