Was it too cheap? Tesla Model 3 Performance price raised to 69.39 million won

The price of Tesla’s new Model 3 Performance has increased. According to Tesla Korea’s official website, the price of the new Model 3 Performance is 69.39 million won, an increase of 1.4 million won compared to the launch date, April 24th of last month. The new Model 3 Performance is a high-performance model based on the Model 3 Highland and is equipped with a variety of exclusive specifications.

Tesla Korea launched the new Model 3 Performance on April 24th last month for 67.99 million won. On May 3, 9 days after launch, the price of the new Model 3 Performance was increased by 1.4 million won to 69.39 million won. Although it is unusual, Tesla has continuously adjusted the prices of Model 3 and Model Y starting in 2022.

However, the price of the new Model 3 Performance is still reasonable compared to the price of KRW 73.69 million when the existing Model 3 Performance was first launched in Korea. For reference, the prices of Hyundai Motor Company’s IONIQ 5 N and Kia EV6 GT, which are domestic high-performance electric vehicles, are 76 million won and 76.05 million won, respectively. The government subsidy for the new Model 3 performance has not been determined.

The new Model 3 Performance is equipped with a new dual motor system, producing a total output of 460 horsepower. It takes 3.1 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h. The new Model 3 Performance can drive 430km in Korea when fully charged. The dual motor system distributes more powerful torque to the rear wheels.

The new Model 3 Performance has chassis upgrades, including a multi-section stabilizer bar, ultra-high-strength steel springs, and a sturdy suspension top mount. The adaptive suspension adjusts in real time and supports comfort, sport, and track modes. The vehicle body posture control system has also been optimized for performance.

The new Model 3 Performance is equipped with exclusive specifications such as 20-inch wheels, brake pads capable of track driving, 12-WAT sports seats with first-row heating and ventilation, carbon trim, and high-performance speakers. Additionally, the air resistance coefficient has been reduced thanks to the newly designed front bumper, splitter, and rear spoiler.
