Xiaomi has presented its SU7 Ultra Prototype, a four-door electric car with an incredible 1548 hp and record-breaking performance. Will it set a track record at the Nürburgring?
Xiaomi continues to challenge the boundaries of the electric car segment with the launch of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype. This high-performance four-door electric car is an upgrade from their previous SU7 model and has been touted as one of the most powerful electric cars on the market today.
The new SU7 Ultra is equipped with Xiaomi HyperEngine V8s engines, providing a combined output of an impressive 1548 horsepower. With these powerhouses under the hood, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds and reach a top speed of over 350 km/h. Xiaomi has ambitions to take the car to the Nürburgring in October, where it aims to beat the electric car track record currently held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
In terms of design, the SU7 Ultra has an aggressive and aerodynamic body with a large rear wing and side spoilers that help generate a whopping 2145kg of downforce. This power allows the car to handle high speeds while maintaining stability and control.
The braking system is equally impressive with AP Racing brakes that can stop the car from 100km/h in just 25 metres, producing a G-force of 2.36G. In addition, the SU7 Ultra is built with a variety of carbon fiber components, helping to keep the weight down to 1900kg, further improving performance and efficiency.
During the presentation, Xiaomi mentioned that the car has a wheelbase of three meters and measures 5260 mm in length, 2064 mm in width and 1406 mm in height. CATL’s revolutionary Qilin 2.0 battery can deliver a whopping 1330kW output, although range and fast charging details have yet to be revealed.
Xiaomi plans to launch the SU7 Ultra in 2025 and it is also confirmed that the car will be launched outside of China.
