Genesis demonstrated high-performance driving capabilities, including the GV60 Magma concept, at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed held in the UK on the 11th (local time). The Genesis Magma has various specifications, including luxurious interior materials, dedicated driving modes, and performance. The GV60 Magma will be released domestically next year.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed, which began in 1993, exhibits a variety of vehicles, including classic cars representing each era, high-performance sports cars, and luxury cars, and offers a variety of things to see. In particular, the 1.86km hill climb course, consisting of difficult corners and steep hills, is the highlight of the event.
Genesis completed the hill climb course at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed with a total of four vehicles: the GV60 Magma Concept, G80 Electrified Magma Concept, GV80 Coupe Concept, and G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife. Of these, the GV60 Magma and G80 Electrified Magma Concepts were the first to drive.
Genesis Magma has three main attributes: an excellent driving experience with sufficient power and sophisticated vehicle dynamics control, a design that shows the essence of dynamism with a wide and low body and emphasizes Genesis’ unique elegance, and an interface and information that concisely conveys key information to help immerse oneself in driving.
Magma vehicles are developed with a focus on factors that drivers can anticipate and react to, such as acceleration/deceleration and cornering performance. The Genesis Magma comes standard with wide tires, and various parts, including a dedicated chassis and drive shaft, are equipped with Magma-specific specifications. Stable behavior and NVH are also maintained.
Genesis aims to achieve the highest level of power output and vehicle dynamic control performance among vehicles of the same class through the Magma vehicle. In addition, it supports Magma-exclusive sound, Magma-exclusive high-end interior materials, and Magma-exclusive driving modes. The first model, GV60 Magma, will be released domestically in 2025.
