Ford Mustang GT (2024)

A lot of power for comparatively little money. This recipe for success has made the Ford Mustang a bestseller for years – also in Germany. The seventh generation has been available in this country since the beginning of 2024, of course with a five-liter eight-cylinder engine and now 453 hp and 540 Nm of maximum torque.

The top model Mustang GTD, derived from the GT3 racing car, is in a completely different league – both in terms of performance and price. Interested parties will have to wait a long time for the strictly limited GTD with 800 hp, just like with the new edition of the Ford GTapply. The price is a whopping 359,900 euros.

But 800 hp in a Mustang is also available at a much lower price, and that is from Roush Performance. The American Ford tuner has a new compressor kit in its range and it’s something special. The package called Phase 2 Limited Edition (available in limited quantities) increases the power to a brutal 821 hp and 853 Nm. That corresponds to an increase of an incredible 368 hp and 313 Nm.

Thanks to the compressor, 453 quickly becomes 821 hp. The kit also includes new spark plugs, mapping and more.

And the best news: This incredible performance boost is available for the equivalent of just over 9,000 euros (9,995 US dollars). Including the base vehicle, the total price is less than 70,000 euros in the best case scenario. Where else can you get over 800 hp at this price?

The kit, which was developed together with Eaton, includes the TVS R2650 compressor as well as new throttle actuators, injectors and more.

Another advantage of the kit: Installation should be extremely simple and possible without having to dismantle the radiator grille. Of course, the compressor, which is labeled with Roush lettering, also fits under the standard hood. No further modifications are necessary.

So far, so tempting. The only problem: the TÜV could put a stop to any German buyers’ plans.
