Nissan X-Trail: Used car market

Popular compact SUV with diesel and all-wheel drive at a fair price
Nissan X-Trail: Used car market

The predecessor of the current Nissan X-Trail is currently available cheaply on the used car market, even as an economical diesel and with all-wheel drive. All information!

Not so long ago it was clear that an SUV had to be equipped with four-wheel drive. A diesel engine was also a must so that the high torque could help overcome obstacles off the beaten track. Diesel engines are now being completely banned more and more often, especially in the compact SUV segment. The current Nissan X-Trail is no longer available with a diesel engine. Unless, of course, interested parties are looking for a well-maintained used SUV.

The third generation of the popular Japanese car, built from 2014 to 2022, was offered with an economical diesel engine until the end of 2020. Depending on the year of manufacture and equipment, the 1.6 dCi, the 1.7 dCi or the 2.0 dCi are also optionally available with the all-wheel drive system called ALL-MODE 4x4i. Of the 660 used X-Trails currently offered on the Car Whiz used car market, only 250 are equipped with a diesel engine. If you are looking for a model that has not been driven much and has up to 30,000 kilometers on the clock, the selection is pretty slim. Only four models meet the criteria.

Affordable diesel all-wheel drive

One of the most popular diesel models in the X-Trail was the four-cylinder with 1.7 liters of displacement, which was offered from 2019 to the end of 2020. The 1.7 dCi provided 150 hp and a torque of 340 Nm. Those who did not want to do without the switchable all-wheel drive when ordering could choose between a six-speed manual and the continuously variable automatic Xtronic transmission.

The small display and the many buttons show that the X-Trail can no longer keep up with the current generation. The condition of the used car is very good.

If you want maximum comfort (and therefore automatic transmission), the following used car, which is currently for sale at Autocenter Leipzig-Halle, might be of interest. The 2020 X-Trail is a first-hand vehicle, has been serviced according to the service book and has only been driven 26,749 kilometers so far. A huge plus point: the dealer gives a five-year guarantee on the Japanese car and even covers the next three inspections.

The accident-free model in Black Pearl Metallic was ordered in the second highest equipment variant N-Tec and thus has many amenities that were not a given in 2020 and in this vehicle class. These include the 360-degree all-round camera, an electric tailgate, the ProPILOT assistance package with semi-autonomous functions, a Navigation system and the panoramic roof.

While the Nissan X-Trail 1.7 dCi ALL-MODE 4x4i with Xtronic automatic transmission cost over 42,000 euros when ordered, the popular SUV is now available for significantly less, namely 25,790 euros. A really fair price for an engine-gearbox combination that is rarely found in new cars anymore.
