Renault Estafette: every parcel deliverer’s dream

Renault Estafette: every parcel deliverer’s dream

A new commercial vehicle in a funky guise, that is the Renault Estafette Concept.

Anyone with a little historical awareness and a love of French cars should get up from their chair now. Because that name sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Indeed, the old Estafette has been revived with this concept.

Collaboration between Renault, Volvo and CMA CGM Group

The new Renault Estafette is a collaboration between the French car brand and Flexis. The latter is a startup of the Volvo Group. The Renault is supposed to represent a commercial vehicle with a focus on deliveries in urban traffic. It looks a bit more cheerful than all those boring company vans with rushing deliverymen behind the wheel.

Secretly, the Frenchman is less compact than you think. The digital images give a distorted image. Because the 4.87 meter long company bus is not that small. In fact, that is just a serious size. It is also a high bus, with 2.59 meters. In any case, you can fit a lot of stuff in it. Super handy for parcel deliverers who are short of space.

Because it is a concept, information is scarce. For example, Renault says it is an electric commercial vehicle, without sharing any further information about the drivetrain. The good news is that the French will actually put the bus into production, although it is still a concept.

In two years, the Renault Estafette should be a reality. Together with startup Flexis, they hope to conquer the market for electric commercial vehicles. To give you an idea.

The brand describes the car as a vehicle with the length of a Kangoo, the maneuverability of a Clio and the loading capacity of a Trafic L1H2. That should sound like music to the ears of delivery drivers. Hopefully it will result in fewer ugly dented vans when the new Renault Estafette is actually launched on the market.

At least a lot more fun than the VW Transporter.

Haha, letting delivery people drive around in an aggressive yellow interior and yellow windows. What could go wrong….

When I look at what my PostNL parcel delivery guy drives around with, this thing is too small. At least they copied Rivian. Rivian makes the electric delivery vans for Amazon.
