BYD Atto 3 price cut – becomes SEK 58,000 cheaper

BYD joins several other car brands and lowers the price of the Atto 3 electric SUV. It will be cheaper than Kia and Hyundai, but more expensive than MG.

Several car brands have reduced the prices of their electric car models significantly recently – for example Renault and Ford. The reason is that demand is decreasing, especially among private individuals.

Last in line is Toyota, which recently lowered the price of the bZ4X electric car by SEK 80,000.

Now it is clear that BYD is also lowering the price of the Atto 3 electric car. The Swedish importer confirms to Car Whiz team that the price of the entry-level Comfort version has recently been reduced by SEK 58,000.

The new price tag is SEK 474,900, which is SEK 17,000 cheaper than the Kia Niro EV Special Edition and SEK 40,000 cheaper than the Hyundai Kona Electric with the large battery, but on the other hand SEK 21,000 more expensive than the MG ZS EV.

What the reduction means for the resale value of already delivered cars remains to be seen. There are plenty of car dealers online who sell model year 2023 BYD Atto 3 with the higher Design equipment level for SEK 379,900, but also other dealers who sell newer cars with a lower equipment level for SEK 532,900.

So far this year, only 139 copies of the BYD Atto 3 have been registered in Sweden. Last year, that number was over 3,200.
