Soon, Toyota will make another attempt to make an electric car hit by mixing design from the popular C-HR with technology from BYD.
Right now pictures of the Toyota bZ3C are abounding in the European motoring press with information that it will soon arrive in Europe. It is a truth with great modification.
Last spring, Toyota showed off the sedan bZ3C and the boxy small SUV bZ3X. Both are based on technology from BYD, but with Toyota’s own design. Toyota will therefore not use the same platform as for the Toyota bZ4X – a model that suffered both problems and criticism at the beginning.
The Toyota bZ3C sedan is the finished version of the bZ SDN concept car.
So far everything is correct.
Now (as so often in the past) images have appeared from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the bZ3C that are completely consistent with the presented model.
The European model in the bZ3 series corresponds to the Toyota C-HR
What has gone wrong is that everyone missed that it is a completely different body that will be sold in Europe. It will be a high-built compact coupé SUV that will be very similar to the bestseller Toyota C-HR.
The car was already shown in 2022 as the Toyota Compact SUV Concept.
The new compact electric SUV will be launched in early 2025, according to Toyota. What the name will be is unclear, but based on how Toyota usually names its cars, the two most likely names are bZ3XC or bZ3CX where C stands for coupé and X for SUV.
Even the Land Cruiser will be an electric car: Land Cruiser SE
Toyota has also announced that they will come with an electric counterpart to the Land Cruiser which is a seven-seater. It currently goes by the name Land Cruiser SE and is 515 cm long, 199 cm wide and 171 cm high. The wheelbase is 305 cm. The body is self-supporting.
This means that the electric Land Cruiser SE is 23 cm longer than the new exhaust version Land Cruiser J250.
