Toyota Sienna 2025 Unveiled, Car Makes Its Own Phone Call

Toyota unveiled the 2025 Sienna on the 17th (local time). The 2025 Sienna is the first Toyota to add rear seat notification technology, a radar-based system that automatically calls a smartphone if it determines that someone has been left in the back seat. Higher trims are equipped with vacuum cleaner and refrigerator options.

The 2025 Sienna is a feature-focused upgrade. The 2025 Sienna is the first Toyota to introduce a feature that will call a driver’s smartphone if it determines that a child has been left in the backseat. While the Toyota Corolla Cross and others have rear-seat alerts, the Sienna’s technology is more sophisticated.

The 2025 Sienna’s Rear Seat Alert technology relies on a 60Ghz radar scanner mounted in the headliner. It can monitor the second and third rows. If the radar scanner detects someone left in the back seat, a warning light will flash, the horn will sound if the warning is ignored for 90 seconds, and a text will be sent after four minutes.

If the door is not opened after two minutes of sending the text, it will automatically call the driver’s smartphone. The 2025 Sienna’s Rear Seat Alert technology is standard on all trims, but you’ll need to subscribe to Safety Connect to use it. The 2025 Sienna also has upgraded trim-specific options.

The 2025 Sienna comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster starting from the main trim. The top trim adds a car vacuum cleaner and refrigerator. The 2025 Sienna has enhanced details on the seats, center console, and dashboard in all trims. The hybrid powertrain performance remains the same as before.
