Hyundai has revealed the battery manufacturer for the Casper Electric. The Casper Electric is equipped with a 49kWh NCM battery for long-range use, supplied by LG Energy Solutions and HLI Green Power, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group. It is characterized by securing safety by testing the battery under various harsh conditions.

The automaker is revealing its electric vehicle battery manufacturers, starting with the recent Mercedes-Benz EQE fire in Cheongna, Incheon. Various manufacturers, including SK On, LG Energy Solutions, and CATL, supply batteries for Hyundai Motor Company’s electric vehicles. The Casper Electric is equipped with batteries from HLI Green Power.

HLI Green Power is a joint venture between LG Energy Solutions and Hyundai Motor Group, and the batteries are produced in Indonesia. Casper Electric is equipped with a 49kWh NCM battery. The battery has a robust design to ensure safety performance even under various harsh conditions such as vibration, shock, and irrigation testers.

Hyundai Motor Group explains that after checking for battery abnormalities through an automatic inspection machine from individual units to complete vehicles, such as cell voltage and insulation quality, they are delivered to customers, and when abnormal signs are detected in the battery, warning lights are displayed and charging is restricted according to the fault code, and fire prevention measures are implemented for safety.

Meanwhile, the Casper Electric has a total length and wheelbase that are 230mm and 180mm longer than the internal combustion engine, respectively. A wider interior space has been secured based on the larger body. The Casper Electric is equipped with pedal misoperation prevention and navigation-based smart cruise control. The price is 31.5 million won (excluding tax benefits).
