Chevrolet China unveiled the exterior of the Equinox Full Change Plus on the 28th. The new Equinox Plus is equipped with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that combines a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine, electric motor, and battery to increase efficiency. The new Equinox Plus will be officially unveiled in the middle of next month.
The new Equinox is the 4th generation full change. The new Equinox is expected to be launched domestically in the first half of 2025. The new Equinox domestic powertrain is a combination of a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine and a continuously variable transmission. The new Equinox Plus, a PHEV, is sold in some Asian countries, but domestic sales have not been decided.
The new Equinox Plus PHEV system consists of a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine, an electric motor, and a battery. The engine’s maximum output is 173 horsepower, and the electric motor produces up to 190 horsepower. The combined total output was not disclosed. The maximum speed was limited to 180 km/h. The battery is lithium iron phosphate (LFP).
An official from Chevrolet China said, “The All-New Equinox Plus is Chevrolet’s next-generation PHEV model created by combining GM’s excellent global resources. A big milestone has been achieved. It is a combination of GM’s 30 years of electrification technology and Chevrolet China’s energy technology. “It will be the most efficient in its class.”
Meanwhile, the new Equinox is based on the improved GM D2 platform and has a body size of 4653mm in length, 1902mm in width, 1714mm in height, and 2730mm wheelbase. The exterior reflects Chevrolet’s latest design language. The interior features a digital instrument panel, large display, and new steering wheel.
