The release of the Genesis GV60 Magma is imminent. According to Autocar, a British automobile media outlet, the GV60 Magma will be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, and its price will be around 100,000 pounds (about 170 million won). The GV60 Magma is the first mass-produced model of the Genesis high-performance Magma.

The GV60 Magma is the first mass-produced model of ‘Genesis Magma’, which embodies Genesis’s will to expand the brand in the high-performance area. The price is predicted to be around 100,000 pounds (approximately 170 million won) in the UK, which is more expensive than the starting price of the Porsche Taycan 4S. For reference, the basic GV60 is priced at 54,105 pounds (about 95 million won).

A Genesis official said in an interview with Autocar, “One of the keys to Genesis Magma is how immersed the driver can be in driving. The characteristics of a car are not determined solely by its powertrain. “It’s an electric car, but things like gear shifting and engine noise are more than just fun,” he said.

Also, “Magma should not be compared to Hyundai Motor Company’s N brand. It is similar to the relationship between BMW’s M division and Alpina. The goal is to mix Korean premium and European sportiness. The Genesis Magma model does not have a dedicated emblem or special logo. “Only the logo will be finished in black,” he said.

The GV60 Magma is expected to share some of its battery and powertrain with Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N. The IONIQ 5 N has a total output of 609 horsepower and a domestic driving range of 364km. The GV60 Magma exterior features wide fenders, rear diffuser, rear wing spoiler, roof spoiler, and representative color orange.
