Is called! The new Fiat Panda is here

The Fiat Panda lives on, in Grande form.

Three cheers, the iconic model from Italy for the common man is retained. We are of course talking about the Fiat Panda, a model that @michaelras is no stranger to. Ideal as a private lease for extra? It will undoubtedly look like a gigantic car next to a first generation Panda.

In any case, Fiat is anticipating the criticism by calling the car Grande Panda. Yes, we said it’s big, right? The Italian car manufacturer has clearly opted for a retro sauce. They copied that nicely at Hyundai. For example, the lamps are a bit reminiscent of the IONIQ 5. Fiat itself says that the appearance is inspired by the Panda from the 1980s. A nice reference to the Panda 4×4, for example, is the fact that the letters Panda are written out on the doors.

Electric or hybrid

The new Fiat Grande Panda is based on the Stellantis multi-energy platform. This means that the car will be offered with both combustion engines and batteries. The so-called STLA Smart platform is aimed at affordable cars within the Stellantis group. A good competitor for the Renault 5, this new Panda.

Fiat is going to offer the Grande Panda in a big way. The brand has markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in mind. Fiat positions the car in the B segment, with a length of less than four meters it is a compact model. There is room for five passengers on board the Italian.

New model family

The Fiat Granda Panda is the first model in the Italian brand’s new model family. Fiat plans to unveil a new model within this family every year until 2027.

For now it is an external reveal of the Fiat Grande Panda. We will hear more information regarding available engines and market launches at a later stage. Unfortunately, a target price is not yet known.

Probably just me, but I don’t see a Panda in it at all, but a Citroen C3 derivative… otherwise neat but nothing special, nice color. Imagine this model in gray……..

Why is that video called ‘grande punto’?

I don’t think there is anything wrong with it, if it had had a different brand on it it would have worked too. Just another box with some lines, not in any way as special as the original Pandas were.

@pietertje123: because the original Panda was a spectacle of special curves and groundbreaking aerodynamic design? 😉

Look, we know Fiat again! Just a nice car, just like a Panda should be 🙂 I think it will feel completely at home in Italian villages.

€25k electric and we will see this on the road! Nice, simple box, which relies more on the 4×4 than the regular panda…

    I like him!

Stellantis has been doing well in recent years anyway; they have actually resuscitated Opel from years of GM infusion, the French brands are in good shape and Fiat and Alfa Romeo have also clearly found their way up. And even Jeep makes cars that suit the European market.

Quite a cool thing. But well under 1,000kg like the previous one won’t work 😉

The Old Boys of Top Gear are turning in their graves: the Panda rear is the same as a Sandero!

Nice, modern interpretation of the original Panda. If the price is the same as the C3, then I see a positive outlook for this model, especially as an electric version.

Beautiful and original car that is full of references to the past. The hood, how it lies on the body, the steeply sloping rear window and the upright rear lights all refer to the Panda from the 1980s. The rims (hubcaps) are a big nod to the hubcaps of the Fiat Ritmo. I think this is cool.

Full of design jokes and references, but not really a nice whole.
Jokes become tired and the design is likely to get boring very quickly.
