Hyundai Motor unveiled partial changes to the Bayon

‘Is it a scaled down version of Hyundai’s Kona?’

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled partial changes to the Bayon on the 18th (local time). Bayon is a European strategic compact SUV. Bayon shares its platform and powertrain with the i20. The partial change to the Bayon has a family look similar to Hyundai Motor Company’s Kona, including front daytime running lights connected to the left and right and split headlamps.

Bayon is a European strategic compact SUV and is part of the domestic Venue segment. The competing model is the Ford Puma. The partially changed front part of the Bayon reflects the brand’s latest family look, including the seamless horizon lamp, which is a daytime running light connected to the left and right, and the split headlamp. The widened hexagonal grill emphasizes the wide body width.

Black garnish is installed at the bottom of the split headlamp. As the side part is a partially modified model, a new wheel has been added. At the rear, there is a boomerang-shaped LED tail lamp like the existing model, and a horizontal bar connecting the left and right sides of the tail lamp. The size of the turn signal was increased and a new bumper was applied.

The interior of the new Bayon is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a center fascia display that has been enlarged from the previous 8 inches to 10.25 inches. Supports wireless software updates. The new Bayon offers the latest ADAS such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, and emergency braking.

The new Bayon powertrain is operated by a single 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline turbo engine. It can be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The basic model has a maximum output of 100 horsepower. You can select the 48V mild hybrid system, which increases maximum output to 120 horsepower.
