Kia Tasman pickup truck comes out like this, what is the expected price?

The release of the Kia Tasman is imminent. According to overseas automobile media outlet Drive, the Tasman will be released globally in the third quarter of this year, and will be equipped with the same 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine as the Kia Sorento. Tasman is a body-on-frame midsize pickup truck that competes with the Ford Ranger. Tasman will also be released in Korea.

According to foreign media, Kia’s Australian subsidiary has requested the headquarters to develop a mid-sized pickup truck since 2017, and full-scale development of the Tasman began in 2019. Tasman benchmarked the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux, which have proven their marketability in the global market, and Kia’s Australian subsidiary actively participated in the development.

Additionally, Drybar predicted that the price of the Tasman will not exceed $70,000 (about 63 million won), which is the highest trim level of the Ranger and Hilux in Australia. The Tasman is equipped with the same 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine as the Kia Sorento. Combined with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, it produces a maximum output of 194 horsepower.

The maximum torque is 45kgm. Tasman offers a full-time four-wheel drive system, leaf spring rear suspension, and a rear differential lock. Tasman’s target is a maximum wading depth of 800 mm, a towing force of 3,500 kg, and a payload of 1,000 kg. Tasman achieves higher ride comfort compared to competing models by optimizing its suspension.

The exterior of the Tasman has an angular silhouette, embodying the style of an authentic pickup truck. The front has a large grill centered on the side fenders and integrated headlamps. A step-type step is placed on the side of the rear bumper to increase user access to the cargo area. The interior is equipped with a wide display.
