Nevs stops Emily GT deal with EV Electra

There will be no deal with the Lebanese company EV Electra to sell Nev’s electric car model Emily GT. “They have not fulfilled parts of the terms of the agreement,” states Nevs.

Last year it became clear that the Emily electric car project, which was developed by Nevs in Trollhättan, was bought by the Lebanese company EV Electra. The deal also meant that EV Electra would take over Nev’s self-driving minibus Pons.

But now the deal is stopped. Nev’s CEO Nina Selander has informed the staff in Trollhättan that Emily GT and Pons are not to be sold to EV Electra.

“The reason is that EV Electra has not fulfilled parts of the terms of the agreement,” states Nevs.

Nevs has for some time continued to support the company and the business despite that, but now that the manufacturing will no longer take place in Sweden but in Italy, Nevs wants to proceed with the cars on his own. Nevs hopes to return with new information “in the near future”.

It is only a little over a week since EV Electra CEO Jihad Mohammad announced that the Emily GT would begin to be delivered on a small scale after the summer.

In a post on Linkedin, Jihad Mohammad confirms that the relationship with Nevs has now come to an end.

“But the good thing is that when we launch and show the world our car, they won’t be able to take the credit. Next week we will go into more details about this,” he writes, among other things.

Here you will find our test drive of the Emily GT.
