The exterior designs of the Torres Coupe and Action, which KGM will unveil in the third quarter, have leaked ahead of their release. The Torres Coupe, which was posted on the domestic Torres community, has been confirmed to have the model name Actyon through the lettering on the rear, and the front and rear designs are exactly as shown in the teaser video, raising expectations.
Torres Coupe (J120) and Actyon’s powertrain information was released through the Ministry of Environment’s emission and noise certification in June. The Actyon is equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission, and can be selected with 2WD or 4WD. It has the same powertrain configuration as the Torres currently on sale.
The Actyon is the unofficial name of the world’s first coupe SUV from Ssangyong Motors, a coupe SUV that was introduced before the BMW X6, which is called the first coupe SUV. KGM Chairman Kwak Jae-seon announced the revival of the Actyon model name at a future strategy announcement media conference held in September last year, and named the Torres Coupe the Actyon.
The Torres Coupe and Actyon are based on the Torres body, but they ditch the high-roof style and emphasize style through a lower roofline and longer rear overhang. As a result, headroom is expected to be somewhat sacrificed compared to the existing Torres, while legroom in the first and second rows will be maintained and trunk loading space will be greatly expanded.
The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine of the Actyon has a maximum output of 170 horsepower and a maximum torque of 28.6 kgm, which is the same as the Torres. The curb weight is 1590~1680 kg, which is 70 kg heavier than the curb weight of the Torres with the same specifications (1520~1610 kg). The Torres 1.5 turbo has acquired the same low-pollution 3-type certification as the Korando 1.5 turbo.
