Toyota Highlander Limited Edition Unveiled, Luxury ‘Up’

Toyota unveiled the Highlander Special Edition on the 18th (local time). The Highlander Special Edition will be sold in limited editions of only 2,500 units to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Highlander’s debut. The Highlander Limited Edition features exclusive exterior colors, 20-inch wheels, and an interior with enhanced luxury. It will be exclusive to the United States and domestic launch is yet to be determined.

The Highlander is a mid-size SUV from Toyota that has sold over 1 million units in just 7 years since it was first unveiled at the New York Auto Show in 2000. The Highlander was also introduced in Korea last year. The Highlander Special Edition is a limited edition of 2,500 units commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Highlander launch. It is known to be sold only in the United States.

The Highlander Special Edition is based on the Hybrid Limited AWD trim. The Highlander Special Edition exterior is differentiated from the regular model with silver accents, 20-inch exclusive wheels, and Heavy Metal or Wind Chill Pearl exclusive colors. The interior has been upgraded for a more luxurious feel.

The headrest is engraved with the 25th Anniversary Edition logo. It offers sophisticated Portobello Brown leather seats, exclusive puddle lamps and door sill plates, and exclusive floor mats. A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and display, JBL premium audio, 3-ZONE air conditioning, and the latest ADAS system are standard.

The Highlander Hybrid combines a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine (D-4S) engine, an e-CVT continuously variable transmission, an E-Four all-wheel drive system, and a series-parallel hybrid system to produce a total system output of 246 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27.5 kgm. It is equipped with a nickel-metal hydride battery pack and a total of three electric motors.
