This unique Alpina B6 is for sale in the Netherlands for very little!
At Car Whiz we can appreciate an Alpina. It’s a BMW, but better. Where a BMW M product has a fairly sporty tinge, Alpina takes a more comfortable approach. Not that their cars are too soft, but they have a much wider repertoire than a comparable M.
BMW makes almost all its cars an M, while Alpina carefully chooses its models. Nowadays, for example, they only make the B8 as a Gran Coupé, which you can simply order from the BMW dealer in some markets. That was not the case with this B6 Bi-Turbo Coupé. You had to order that special from Alpina.
Unique Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo
Not many people did that. the competition is a bit fiercer in this segment. At the time, you could also buy a Porsche 911 Turbo, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Audi R8, Ferrari California or Mercedes-Benz SL for the same money. And a B6 is a bit like a two-door 5 Series.
But that is precisely what makes the car so much fun. In this specific case the car is even more fun, because it is a so-called 1 of 1! Now that is quite quickly the case with an Alpina if you choose a slightly special specification. The most special thing is of course the color: it is Blue Water Metallic.
No, it’s not a tip of the hat to the best band in the world. It is the introductory color of the LCI variant of the 3 Series of the E90 generation. You could not choose this for the Alpina B6, but you could via BMW’s Individual program.
Interior
The interior is tailored to it and is also blue. Just like this B3 Bi-Turbo, this B6 has a Lavalina leather interior. This means that a whole lot is covered with leather and that the quality of the leather is extremely high. Where the Alpina blue B3 had the characteristic blue-white interior, this one has a completely blue interior. It is beautiful? Well, with the exterior color it is very cool.
We’re just not convinced by the wheels. The standard silver-colored twenty-spoke Alpina wheels of this generation are not the prettiest and in black they look quite wrong. But yes, tastes differ of course. That spoiler looks aftermarket, but it is not. You could order this optionally on the B6 Coupé.
Technology
The engine in this case is the 4.4 V8 biturbo, the N63B44. Connoisseurs know that you have to pay very close attention, because these are engines that need to be taken good care of. In this case it is still a fairly mild specification, which Alpina calls the ‘M2/1’. This has different turbos, forged pistons from Mahle and a larger intercooler than the standard block.
In the convertible it is good for 507 hp, but in the coupe it delivers 540 hp! The torque of 700 Nm is also impressive. Unlike the M6, the B6 has an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF, instead of a DCT. The Alpina B6 also received an Akrapovic exhaust and limited slip differential.

Really a soft spot for this generation six series..
€50k really doesn’t feel like much. Is it that difficult to wear out? Color spec is very cool, but when I hear BMW and V8 I get the jitters, especially with the km’s on it and the amount of preventive maintenance that is coming up..
Just get the 640i…

I don’t know what the prices are for this model, but a BMW for a favorable price is easily sold.
However, this one has been there for a month, so not that cheap at all.
