Alfa Romeo just as exotic as Ferrari in the Netherlands

If you want to drive an Italian exotic, you might immediately think of Ferrari. But with an Alfa Romeo you drive just as exclusively in the Netherlands.

BOVAG has again published some figures on car sales in the Netherlands. Colleague @Loek already updated you this morning on the biggest winners in the market. Although that is relative. The total market, which has not been all that fat in the Netherlands in recent years, has taken a dip again this year of 3.7 percent to date. EVs are selling slightly better. But hardly anyone buys a normal new car in the Netherlands anymore.

As we see worldwide, there is something remarkable going on. Really expensive cars are going like crazy. Rolls-Royce is getting a big plus in the Netherlands, but Ferrari is also doing well. In fact, in August 12 were sold in our country. There have been years when that was the score for the entire year. The Ferrari 296 went over the counter 3 times, the Purosangue also three times, the Roma twice and the best seller was strangely enough the SF90 with four sales.

Unfortunately, we do not see this love for Italian metal reflected in the sales of Alfa Romeos. In August, Alfa Romeo sold just as many cars as Ferrari. Well, one more if we are very precise. They are all Tonales. Because the Giulia went over the counter…0 times. And the Stelvio…Also 0 times. In the entire year, 16 new Giulias and 7 new Stelvios have been sold. So you drive exclusively if you are one of these buyers.

But yes, we have to give you a stern talking to now. This is not acceptable, boys (m/f/i). We at the editorial office all want to get our hands on a second-hand Giulia for cheap in the foreseeable future. But if you don’t buy them new, that’s not going to work of course. We don’t write all those positive articles for nothing, right? Go ahead, leave that Dreier for what it is and buy a Gjuul. Of which note.

How frustrating it must be to be a car salesman at an Alfa Romeo dealership. If you have nothing to do all year… then a work week goes by excruciatingly slowly…

The workshop, on the other hand…
      No just kidding of course

You should bring a barchetta to the US. Much more exclusive than any Ferrari. And the line of the 166MM on the body.

Hey Thomas’ 4c, brilliant car! I’ve had the chance to drive this car several times.
What a pleasure, what an experience, few cars come close to this, even expensive exotics are no match for the experience.

Alfa may not sell many new cars in the Netherlands, but I think they still do a good business with young used cars.
A young, beautiful Giulia still costs a lot of money!

That is the tragedy of the Guilia and the Stelvio. 95% of the cars are driven in the lease and then the residual value of a BMW, Mercedes or Audi makes it simply not interesting to drive an Alfa. Same goes for cars like the Stinger.
