Alfa Romeo Milano leaked and is a bit of a shock

The design language is completely different for Alfa Romeo, as the Milano that has been leaked proves!

Which direction is Alfa Romeo going? Anyone hoping for a continuation of the design language of, for example, the Tonale should take a sip of water. Because the Alfa Romeo Milano has been leaked and has been given a different design language. We say it takes some getting used to. I can imagine that the Alfist says: it takes some getting used to?! Take some getting used to?!

Because this is something completely different. The unveiling of the Milano will be at the end of the afternoon today. Then we get to hear all the picas, specs and more. In any case, we can already discuss the looks a bit. Both the front and rear of the Alfa Romeo Milano have been leaked.

First of all, what are you looking at? The Milano is an SUV in the busy B-segment of crossovers. There is a lot to choose from in this popular segment, but if you want ‘something different’ the rinse is a bit thinner. By something different we mean a crossover with more special styling or nicer interior decoration. In that category we have cars like the DS3 Crossback and the Lexus LBX. The Alfa will soon compete with that.

It’s a real attention grabber, that’s for sure. The Alfa Romeo logo can be found on the hood, but also very exuberantly at the front of the car. Sleek lines were chosen in combination with thin headlights that culminate in larger units. This makes the whole thing look nice and aggressive. That is a face that suits an Alfa Romeo. An Alfist is not just satisfied, of course.

The back is unfortunately a bit less creative. It is written ‘Alfa Romeo’, because this could have been anything. A Peugeot, a Renault, a BYD, you name it. The Alfa Romeo Milano gets a continuous light bar that extends on both sides. The design is also very clean, except they forgot to spray part of the rear bumper. It’s as if the designers didn’t feel like it anymore when they got to the rear. Or am I being too critical?

This afternoon at 5:00 PM we will know everything about this B-segmenter. It will be an incredibly important model for the Italians, because this is the segment where serious sales should come.

I suspect some alphaholics just fell off their chairs in fright. Or themselves as we speak choke on their coffee.

I was one of them. I really hope that the official photos show a completely different car, but I’m afraid not. The car in these photos certainly doesn’t appeal to me.

as if a dubious VinFast product had a good time with a Renault Clio…

The teeth… I’m a nice Alfist and usually turn a blind eye to quite a lot (hello Tonale), but I can’t manage this. What an ugly cage.

      are you here again?

    Wtf Alpha!

    Looks like a Chinese rascal

I saw this yesterday and thought it was an internship project by a Copy Technics student at Tianjin University. Dio porco!! This is an even bigger mistake than the Jeep Tonale…

On a positive note: As the owner of a Giulia or Stelvio, you will continue to drive the most beautiful car or Dutch roads for even longer.

This should compete with the Audi Q2 and Lexus LBX? Good luck…

    Alfa Multipla, is that you?

    Japanese back and French front.
As if a Clio had sex with a Toyota CHR, resulting in this.

I miss a clear family face at Alfa. Every new model looks like it has nothing to do with the rest of the models

Photos with a wide-angle lens, proportions are difficult to estimate. In a neat color it might not be so bad. Or is that mainly hope?

The Milano is on a PSA / Stellantis platform? So this is the Alfa version of which Opel or Peugeot / Citroen model?

b segment, so I think Peugeot 2008 as a basis.

I can’t say that I am immediately overcome with wild enthusiasm at the sight of its appearance. But it may take some getting used to. Let’s see what the afternoon brings.

The only positive thing I can say is that it seems to have a reasonably good stance with well-filled wheel arches…but other than that.

I am really an enthusiast and am now looking around for an Alfa again, but this is certainly not going to be it. This was their chance to make a difference with design and it has mainly become a me-too thing with all the design details from 10 other manufacturers. Very sorry!

Maybe in a different color, but I don’t like it that way. Think it’s a 3 in a dozen crossover that could have just come from China (those headlights with that strip underneath, come on). The grille where the Alfa logo is carved doesn’t look good anyway.

I really wonder, as with some other new cars, who on earth thought it was a good idea to agree to this.
