Audi new S3 teaser released, Akrapovic exhaust system applied

Audi released a teaser of partial changes to the S3 on the 12th (local time). The new S3 features sporty-designed front and rear bumpers, innovative headlamps, and an Akrapovic exhaust system. The maximum output of the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine increased to 333 horsepower. It will be released in the first half of the year.

S3 is a high-performance model based on the Audi A3 (sedan/hatchback). The new S3 combines a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine and a 7-speed S-tronic automatic transmission to produce a maximum output of 333 horsepower and a maximum torque of 42.8kgm. Compared to the existing S3, the maximum output is 23 horsepower and the maximum torque is 2kgm higher. The maximum speed is 250 km/h.

The S3 partial change takes 4.7 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h. The 7-speed S-tronic automatic transmission has improved response, including shift speed. The new S3 is equipped with a torque splitter that supports variable torque distribution between the rear wheels. The redesigned MacPherson strut suspension ensures handling.

The new S3 offers a new Dynamic Plus driving mode and electronic stability control. The high-performance braking system has a front wheel disc that is 4mm thicker than before and the brake pad size has also been enlarged. The Akrapovic exhaust system changes its sound depending on the driver’s settings or driving mode.

Partial changes to the S3 included a sporty-designed bumper and headlamps with Audi’s unique innovative technology built into the front. The grill size has increased slightly. New graphics were placed inside the rear tail lamp. A diffuser tailored to the Akrapovic exhaust system was applied to the bumper containing the air duct.
