Xtura 686 EF: Off-road adventure meets luxury living

In Sprendlingen, new roads are being taken – and they are unpaved. Xtura is the name of Eura Mobil’s first off-road vehicle.

With the Xtura, those responsible at Eura Mobil are making a promise: “Our entire expertise is in it!” What that means is clear at first glance: a self-sufficient 4×4 all-wheel drive vehicle, but with a camper body. And that definitely has its advantages.

This creates a feeling of space that is extraordinarily generous for a vehicle under seven meters long. Two separate lengthways beds, bathroom and kitchenette – everything is of sufficient size. The interior design is also surprisingly stylish. Light colors for the seat covers give the face-to-face seating group a chic look that would not suggest the sporty adventure vehicle from the outside. A combination that shows that off-road vehicles do not have to do without comfort.

Sporty expedition vehicle on the outside, stylish inside Motorhome with a generous feeling of space. The Xtura proves that you can have both. The semi-integrated vehicle also comes with a slanted rear. This is intended to provide a significant approach angle. Visually, Sprendlingen opted for a light sand color for the exterior design. This is intended to ensure that the vehicle is inconspicuous off-road.

With a permissible total weight of 4.1 tonnes, the vehicle is unfortunately a bit heavier, but it does have an impressive payload of 750 kilograms. This is a realistic value for luggage, especially on longer journeys.

The Xtura 686 EF has

Everything you would expect from a real off-roader: AT tires with Delta wheels, a roof rack with a 60 kg payload, ambient lighting and ground clearance. But above all, they have come up with something technologically: a special adhesive technology is intended to ensure extreme structural strength, solar panels and a 330 Ah lithium battery for self-sufficiency. Tech partner Garmin supplies its own WLAN network plus navigation system from sea rescue, which really knows every beaten path. The display of the navigation system also serves as a rear-view camera and replaces the rear-view mirror while driving.

The Xtura is robust on the outside and stylish on the inside.

The additional headlights in the front area of the vehicle are a real eye-catcher. They enable loading and maneuvering on the campsite or parking space even in the dark. Another aspect that shows: The Eura Mobil not only looks like a real off-roader, it is one too. There are also numerous components that are particularly useful on longer trips. For example, the large rear garage, which can be conveniently loaded from both sides.

Storage space is available in numerous wall cupboards in the living area and above the bed. Under the bed, you can store your clothes for the adventure in two large wardrobes. There is also a smart onboard control via smartphone, Alde hot water and underfloor heating and the lighting control and dimming of individual rooms.

Space like in a large mobile home: the open room design is impressive.

This wealth of optional features is fun and gives the impression of being equipped to explore off the beaten track.

This is how the Xtura 686 EF drives

Anyone who wants to drive off-road will already know that there is no speeding! But a certain amount of motorization is also an advantage off-road. With 190 hp, the Xtura is well equipped. Thanks to a length of just under seven meters, you don’t get the feeling that you are driving disproportionately on the road. A wheelbase of just over three and a half meters gives you the feeling of a Sprinter. But the partially integrated camper body is still noticeable.

Thanks to the Xtura’s sand-colored paintwork, you can travel inconspicuously in nature.

With a width of just under 2.20 meters and a height of more than three meters, the Xtura is of course no longer a van. This is particularly noticeable in gusts of wind. Living comfort and storage space come at the expense of agility and everyday usability. Overall, however, the Xtura is a lot of fun – and that will certainly still be the case after a few weeks of traveling.

The Xtura is a really well thought-out off-road vehicle. The components used ensure a convincingly self-sufficient motorhome. There is also a generous feeling of space thanks to the motorhome structure. But the overall package also has its price.
