Kia EV6 partial modifications revealed, contract starting at KRW 55.4 to KRW 63.15 million

Kia announced on the 14th that it will begin a contract for partial modification of the EV6. The new EV6 has a changed exterior design, improved ride comfort and quietness, and improved marketability, such as an increase in driving range to 494 km when fully charged with a 4th generation battery, but the price is set at the same KRW 55.4 to KRW 63.15 million as before. It will be released next month.

Kia secured competitiveness by freezing the price of the new EV6 despite strengthening its marketability to the level of a new car. The detailed price of EV6 partial modifications is 55.4 million won for Long Range Light, 58.24 million won for Air, 62.52 million won for Earth, and 63.15 million won for GT-Line, based on the basis before applying electric vehicle tax benefits. The official launch of the new EV6 is scheduled for June.

The new EV6 is expected to be sold at KRW 52.6 million for the Light, KRW 55.3 million for the Air, KRW 59.35 million for the Earth, and KRW 59.95 million for the GT-Line once the environmentally friendly vehicle notification is completed and tax benefits are reflected. Kia operates a ‘Triple Zero’ program, including trade-in benefits, special variable interest rate installments, and EV6 residual value guarantee.

Star Map Signature Lighting daytime running lights, Kia’s new family look, are placed on the front of the new EV6, creating a futuristic yet wide impression. Star map lighting was also used in the rear lamps. The GT-Line provides sporty front and rear bumpers, front LED center positioning lamp, etc.

The interior features a sophisticated panoramic curved display, new ambient lamps, a new capacitive steering wheel, fingerprint authentication, and a wireless charging pad with an improved structure to prevent the smartphone from moving. Supports Kia Digital Key 2, e Hi-Pass, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

The new EV6 is equipped with a 4th generation battery with an increased capacity of 84kWh. The driving distance on a single charge is 494km based on long-range 2WD (19 inches, without built-in cam). Even though the battery capacity has increased by increasing the rapid charging speed, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% within 18 minutes when using 350kW ultra-fast charging.

The new EV6 has improved riding comfort on rough roads by tuning the existing frequency-sensitive shock absorber. Overall driving sensibility has been improved by optimizing motor noise control and expanding the rear-wheel motor sound absorption and sound area. In addition, body rigidity was strengthened, including an increase in the thickness of the B-pillar, and a 10-airbag system was installed, including second-row side airbags.

EV6 partial changes range from lane keeping assist 2, remote smart parking assist 2, electric tilt & telescopic steering wheel, air-conditioning photocatalyst sterilization system, 12-inch head-up display, digital center mirror, built-in cam 2, next-generation infotainment system ccNC, and controller. Supports expanded OTA, etc.
