Real all-terrain vehicle from Aston Martin arrives

Are they going to put an Aston badge on a G-Class or something? A real all-terrain vehicle from Aston Martin is coming, namely.

In a relatively short time, Aston Martin has dramatically improved its line-up. Lawrence Stroll can run a business in that regard. For example, the quite good DB11 was succeeded by the very impressive DB12. Nowadays the Vantage is also better (and faster) than ever. Not all of them are stronger and faster. They look much nicer, the interior is higher quality and the infotainment system has been comprehensively improved.

Lawrence Stroll knows what people want. Simply because his Facebook group of friends are also potential customers of the brand. Apparently he invited a lot of acquaintances and friends and asked what was wrong with the current Aston Martins. Those changes were subsequently implemented.

Apparently those people have also indicated that they want to see more off-road vehicles from Aston Martin. And by off-road vehicles we don’t mean DBXs with a lift kit and off-road tires. You can probably contact Delta4x4 for that. No, it is a car in the spirit of the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-class.

The car is currently still in the early stages of development. the name is ‘project Rambo’, a reference to the Rambo Lambo, the Lamborghini LM002. That was also a completely different car compared to the rest of the range.

Limited Edition, that is

Just like the LM002, it is not going to be a regular model in the line-up. The plan is to build 2,500 units and leave it at that. That way it is a Limited Edition and Aston Martin can ask for a lot more.

Autocar can confirm that Aston Martin will not use a new platform. Obviously to save costs and to be able to run production somewhat parallel to the other Aston Martins.

This would mean that the basis is still the DBX. But much more intense. Or they should put an Aston Martin badge on a G-class. But yes, it is not ‘the Aston Martins’ to stick the logo on a completely different car.
