Stay away from the Brenner Pass! I repeat, stay away from the Brenner Pass

Stay away from the Brenner Pass! I repeat, stay away from the Brenner Pass

With the flame in the pipe over the Brenner Pass? Forget it!

We never write about Austria like that and twice in one afternoon! Truckers will no longer be allowed to cross the A10 from 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon in the Alpine country, the A13/A22 from Innsbruck to Bolzano and vice versa. is just completely closed.

Anyone who didn’t go winter sports in the Swiss or Austrian Alps this year, but thought I would whiz down the mountain in Süd-Tyrol (Italy), can have fun. If you want to go home this weekend, or better yet today, just stay where you are or drive a long way!

Autostrada del Brennero

More than 40 centimeters of snow fell last night. Several trucks are stranded and the road over the Brenner Pass is closed in both directions. Naturally, efforts are being made to clear the road, but no one knows yet when this will be accomplished, according to the ANWB.

By the way, there may also be snow today, so for those who MUST go home from Northern Italy, go ahead and buy a vignette for Switzerland and join the traffic jam for the Gotthard tunnel. Or San Gottardo, personally I prefer Italian to German.

Better slopes

There is an advantage for those who are still in the ski areas. The slopes are improving due to the extra snowfall. The weather was very mild in the Alps last week and a little extra snow was welcome in that area. I would say, extend your ski pass and you will probably be able to cross the Brenner again on Sunday!
